How It Works… during normal times
What We do:
We serve delicious dinners in the comfort of our own home, all created with the taste of South Africa in mind. The menu’s are pre-set and are an exciting surprise on the night, something we believe true foodies will really enjoy. Of course if you want an idea of what we serve, see our Gallery page.
This is an excellent opportunity to sample authentic food with your friends or family in a relaxed environment.
We also have a variety of themed evenings, such as Seafood nights, Steak nights, Feast nights and the very traditional ‘Bunny Chow’ nights so please check the calendar for details. Bespoke catering can be arranged for special occasions including private hire and outside catering. We also have special pop up ‘take away’ weekends so you can pre-order some delights to collect and enjoy in the comfort of your home…..our samoosa’s are very popular!
On The Night:
Please arrive promptly as due to the nature of this dining experience all courses are served simultaneously to all diners and unfortunately, we are unable to wait for late arrivals as this would not be fair to the rest of our guests.
We will welcome you, take your coats and store your drinks. We will also provide water for the table and will have ice if requested. We want you to enjoy your evening as much as we enjoy hosting the night, so look forward to chatting to you in between courses either in the kitchen or dining room. Our food is personal, thoughtfully prepared and presented….and of course delicious…so sit back and enjoy the journey.
What does it cost?
Our menu’s are priced per supper club night which you will see on the booking page. Prices are subject to change and without notice. Service with a smile is included, and tips are discretionary but very welcome. As we do not hold a liquor license please feel free to bring your own wine, beer, bubbly and /or soft beverages, we do not charge corkage.
Please note prices will vary for bespoke menu’s and certain private events & our themed evenings.
Payment is via bank transfer or cash on the night, and a non refundable deposit by bank transfer is required at the time of your booking being confirmed. We cannot accept credit card payments
Timings
As we only do one seating for the evening, the timing for serving the meal is crucial, so please bear this in mind when planning your night. The meal will be served at the agreed time, which unless otherwise stipulated, is at 7.30pm till 10pm. At the same time, please do not arrive too early as I will be in the final throws of creating your exciting evening meal.
Cancellations
As all ingredients are purchased fresh and a lot of effort and time goes into preparing these relaxed yet intimate dinners, I require at least 48 hours’ notice if you have to cancel and please be advised the deposit is non refundable. If you give less than 48 hours’ notice you are more than welcome to have friends or family take your place. If we cannot fill the space, then we would need to charge the full dinner price.
FYI
Decorum: You are a guest in our home, so we want you to be relaxed and enjoy a great night. Please respect other guests, the environment you are in and our home whilst visiting. If there is anything you are not happy with, please let us know on the night so we can make every effort to rectify it.
Dress: Casual…be comfortable.
Dietary Requirements: Please let me know in advance of any allergies and/or intolerances you and your guests have. I am able to cater for vegetarians and pescatarians on most occasions and will need to know of all allergen/intolerance information at least two weeks prior to the night. Please be advised that as I am preparing food in my home kitchen I cannot guarantee an allergen free environment.
Alcohol: We do not hold a liquor license, however please feel free to bring wine, beer, bubbly or soft beverages with you to enjoy. I will be able to keep items chilled if required, however please bring them pre-chilled so you can enjoy once you arrive. Of course, anything that you have left over will be handed back to you at the end of the night.
Children: Please be advised that our restaurant is small and the setting is not suited for children unless you have booked a private event with us. We are happy to accommodate children over the age of 12 years where the same menu and price will apply.
